Gonzalez Byass takes the Feria de Jerez global

Jerez’s leading Sherry producer, González Byass, is taking the town’s world famous Feria global in a ground-breaking move to put the Jerez Feria online.

Daily broadcasts, from tiopepe.tv, will be transmitted live throughout the week, bringing all the fun of the fair to thousands of consumers around the world.

Jerez, May 2011 – “tiopepe.tv”, accessed via www.gonzalezbyass.com, has been on air from Sunday 8 May through until Friday 13 May and will bring the atmosphere and action from Jerez to Sherry fans and lovers of Spain all over the world.

Kicking off on Sunday, Mauricio González Gordon, chairman of González Byass, launched the site with an introduction to “tiopepe.tv” direct from the González Byass caseta in the heart of the fair.

Daily broadcasts have since run throughout the Feria bringing surfers and bloggers, interviews with the González Byass winemakers, tours and tastings in Spain’s most visited bodega and live coverage from the Feria itself.

“The Feria de Jerez is such a magnificent occasion we felt it was time to take it to a wider audience,” said Gordon.

“The internet provides us with a fantastic opportunity to show consumers around the world what enjoying a glass of Tio Pepe in the Feria de Jerez is really like.

"It also gives us the chance to showcase our portfolio of wines and Sherries via this most adaptable medium.”

From London to Mexico City, Madrid to Shaghai, people will be able to dip in and out of the broadcasts and enjoy a little bit of Jerez and that Feria feeling in their own home.
