Carlsberg recalls beer over glass fears
Carlsberg is recalling certain batches of its Tuborg lager due to fears they contain small glass shards.
The brewer said there had been an “isolated incident” at one of its bottling facilities, which necessitated the recall of the unknown number of packs.
The affected lots were destined for the off-trade and include eight and 15 x 275ml bottle packs.
No other Carlsberg products are believed to be contaminated by glass and all customers would be entitled to a full refund.
The recall covers bottles with the best before dates 22 to 24 July 2011. Carlsberg began placing adverts in the national press and wholesalers yesterday, explaining the reasons for the recall and how people could be reimbursed.
