Cox awarded highest honour

UK director of Wines of Chile, Michael Cox, was awarded the highest honour by the country he represents in the UK last night, as he was made Comendador de la Orden al Merito de Chile, a Commander of the Order of Merit of Chile.

The Commander of the Order of Merit of Chile is the highest honour that can be bestowed on non-Chileans and is awarded to foreigners who have achieved distinction to the benefit of Chile.
The award was presented to Cox by His Excellency Tomas Muller, Chile Ambassador to Great Britain, in the presence of the President. Upon receiving the award Cox told the audience that this was the proudest moment of his 40 year career in the wine trade.

Cox later added: "It’s great for the on-going success of Chilean wine in the UK to be recognised in this way and confirms the pleasure that I derive from working with the Chilean wine trade and to help them make great progress."
