Constellation increases luxury focus

Constellation Wines in the US has appointed Pierre Noique to the newly-created role of vice president of luxury wines as part of the company’s concerted efforts to drive sales among its top-end products.

The world’s biggest wine group – which counts brands including Robert Mondavi Winery, Franciscan Estate, Simi, Kim Crawford and Wild Horse among its portfolio – is also recruiting a dedicated luxury wine sales team to further strengthen its standing in the category.

Jay Wright, president of Constellation Wines North America, said: "The luxury wine category is one of the most important parts of our business and we are well poised to focus on the incredible luxury brands within our portfolio and the best way to bring them to market while responding to consumers needs."

Noique joins Constellation after nine years at Niebaum~Coppola/Rubicon Estate in Rutherford where he last served as vice-president, national sales and marketing. Previously he was director of sales, western division, and prior to that the Midwest regional manager.

Pierre previously held roles as the Midwest regional manager for 12 States at Martin Sinkoff Wines in Chicago, and as the area export sales manager at Vignerons du Val D’Obrieu in Narbonne, France.
