Natalie Wang

Natalie is managing editor of the drinks business Hong Kong, covering the drinks industry in Asia with a keen focus on the Greater China region.
A journalism graduate from the University of Hong Kong, Natalie honed her reporting skills while working for Reuters, Jewellery News Asia magazine and the Nanfang.com, covering a range of social and economic topics including anti-corruption, and the gemstone industry as well as Dongguan’s underground sex trade.
Prior to taking up her role at the drinks business, Natalie worked for two years with American wine critic James Suckling where her main responsibility was managing his eponymous website.
Since joining the drinks business in November 2016, Natalie has covered a diverse range of subjects including fake wines, China’s emerging wine regions, and the country’s fast-growing e-commerce market, in addition to interviewing leading industry personalities from Chinese wine producers to other top global winemakers. Her coverage has led her to win HKIWSC’s Young Communicator of the Year Award in 2017.
Natalie has completed her WSET Level 3 study in wine and passed with distinction after joining the drinks business, and is planning to further her study with Diploma in the future.
In addition to wine, Natalie enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, movies, music and occasionally some karaoke.
