For over 60 years, Cantina Tollo has been a pioneer and innovator for the wines of Abruzzo. The focus on indigenous varieties has led to exquisite examples, like this expression of Pecorino produced through their Feudo Antica project in Tullum, one of the smallest DOCGs in Italy. Pale lemon-green in colour, the wine shows orchard fruits with lemon and tangerine zest accents. Dry, but rounded and mid-weight, the palate flavours are framed by fresh acidity and tangy notes, textured and layered. Really good concentration and length, this is a superb wine to match grilled lobster with clarified butter. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
