Tasting notes:
In the 16th and 17th centuries the eminent Florentine banking family Riccardi transformed the estate into a bio-diverse working farm. This millennium the Hands family have re-instated this idea of bio-diversity. And so, a glorious wine paying tribute to the Riccardi family history. Medium-deep garnet in hue, mature appearance, the wine shows expressive sour cherry and blueberry fruit with cedarwood and a touch of tangerine. Medium-bodied, the palate fruit and wood is supported by lively acidity and linen tannins. Nicely balanced with creamy note and good length. A wine pairing for quail wrapped in prosciutto with a bay-leaf infused sauce of tangerines and Marsala. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
