Tasting notes:
Located in the Waihopai Valley, the 19th-century Leefield Station agricultural site was converted to vineyards by Brent Maris in 2013. Mid-lemon in hue, this wine has white peach, pear – almost grassy fruit. Just dry, the palate is light-bodied with fresh acidity and sappiness that carries through to the finish. A good match for cashew and lentil pâté with cantaloupe, peaches, avocado and a chilli-lime vinaigrette. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
