Tasting notes:

The Ned is a rounded style from Marisco Vineyards. Labelled as a Pinot Grigio, it is bottled in a green bottle, but the wine appears as a rosé in the glass. But you have to be a serious wine detective (or anorak) to discover that it is a rosé before pouring. The only hint is that Pinot Noir is mentioned on the back label. Pale peach in hue, the wine has pomegranate and gentle red berry fruit, with touches of crushed rose petals, custard and mint. The palate is nicely fruited, with light body and lively acidity. An attractive wine, well-suited to prawns in a Marie Rose sauce on a bed of romaine lettuce. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
