Tasting notes:

 Produced by English, and English-trained, winemaker, Robin Baum, for his Winemakers Club Italia, this Gran Selezione is matured partly in ceramic \'eggs\' and partly in wood. An undiscovered gem, this wine was a judges\' favourite. Deepish garnet in hue, the wine has dried cherries and cranberries overlaid with creamy and toasty oak notes. Medium-bodied, the palate is well-balanced and nicely integrated with bracing acidity and dense velvet-textured tannins giving structure and length. An attractive mature wine that will be a good pairing for a fricasée of wild mushrooms with red wine on fettucine. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
