Tasting notes:
Then vineyards for this wine—Bagnaccio, Oasi and Rialdoli—are on rocky soils at about 400-450m. Slightly warmer, it is understandable that this is the richest expression of Querciabella\'s single vineyard wines. Medium ruby-coloured, the wine has morello cherry and black plum fruit with cedary oak background and a tantalizing orange zest lift. Sweet-fruited, the palate flavours are bold and intense, but balanced by refreshing acidity and mouth-filling, velvet-textured tannins. An edge of chalky minerality adds complexity. This is an age-worthy, serious wine to pair with Florentine-style pigeon, in a rich sauce served over blanched Savoy cabbage, [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
