Now here’s a surprise – a Prosecco alternative from Turkey made with the native and naturally high-acid grape variety Emir. Aromatically, it’s loaded with peach and pear, which carry through to the palate, with a touch of sweetness, a creamy mousse and then bitter lemon on the finish, as well as a hint of grapefruit pith. Nicely balanced, layered and refreshing, yet crowd-pleasing and fruity. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
