Established by the And family in 1929, Kavaklidere is named after one of the districts in Ankara and today is one of the flag-bearers of Turkish wine. This example shows a pale gold colour with maybe just a hint of rose-gold, and delicate red berries and pomegranate accented by delicate creamy notes. The light-bodied palate exudes spicy oak notes overlaying the fruit and supported by lively acidity. A touch of tannin gives grip and suggests that Southeast Asian foods will be a good match.
