Tasting notes:
Francesco Mionetto established Mionetto in 1887 in the centre of Prosecco at Valdobbiadene. \'Passion, tradition and excellence\' are the motto of this very fine producer. And this wine certainly demonstrates how well Mionetto succeeds. Very pale lemon-coloured with very few bubbles in view, but there is a slight spritz on the palate, showing the \'frizzante-style\'. The aromatics have white peach and white flowers with a hint of fresh crusty baguette. Off-dry (12g/l r.s.), the palate brings in lemon and lime and fresh acidity, good definition and length. Maybe not quite a \'true\' Prosecco, but a very nice linear and balanced wine that will pair well with salmon (or lumpfish caviar) canapés at a late Spring or Summer Garden Party.
