Tasting notes:
Villa Sandi combines art, culture and wine in the Treviso sub-region of the Veneto. The villa itself in the Palladian style was built in 1622 and is the headquarters of Villa Sandi. Villa Sandi has a distinctive commitment to biodiversity, including in and along the canal that runs through the vineyard property. This wine is most expressive of the sustainability aims of the company. Very pale lime-green in hue with minuscule bubbles, the wine exudes white peach and a greengage lift with delicate yeast autolysis. Off-dry (12g/l r.s.), the light-bodied palate has bracing acidity and brittle mousse supporting the flavours. Good definition and nicely rounded on the mid-palate, the wine would be a good partner for risotto with tender wild greens, in season during March and early April. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
