The prestige cuvee of Champagne Henriot is certainly on song judging by this delicious expression from the 2015 harvest. Layers of delicious flavours abound, from caramel and candied lemon to baked apple, cooked butter, coffee bean and grilled nuts. Not only complex, but persistent too, as well as wonderfully cleansing, with a dry, chalky-fresh finish – helped by its very low dosage. Yes it’s a ripe vintage, and a mature Champagne, but this is still a lively fizz to sip, and savour. Patrick Schmitt MW
