Grown on slate soils of the Spanish foothills of the Pyrénées, this Monastrell demonstrates what a superior grape variety it is, for Spain in particular. Deep-coloured with plenty of black fruit and pepper, the wine exhibits morello cherries accented with earthy undertones and dark spices. Dense and intense, the wine has plum fruit and good acidity adding lift. An excellent choice for rolled breast of lamb stuffed with chestnut mushrooms, spinach, onion and garlic.
