Tasting notes:
Our top scoring sparkling wine of 2026 is from Tasmania – much to the surprise of the judges. Appealing nose of caramel, coffee cream and nuts. The palate is creamy with fine mousse, honey, ripe apple and some phenolics, yet remains taut and fresh, with bone-dry chalkiness – this is almost completely sugar-free. Roasted coffee bean and nuttiness come through on the lingering, layered finish. Very good. Complete now, with some evolution, but could cellar. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
