Another sensational wine from Weingut Krispel in Vulkanland, Styria. Pale lemon-green in colour, this example has pear, caramelised apple, acacia honey and plenty of baking spices. Beautifully textured, the dense palate integrates the fruit and oak, and sings with freshness and notes of lime and tangerine zests. Slightly fuller in style than the 2024, the wine is a good match for Asian-inspired cod – baked with sliced leeks and fresh ginger. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
