Tasting notes:
\'Kir\' is an abbreviation for \'Kyrie\' (\'Sir\' in Greek) and \'Kir Yianni\' is Yiannis Boutaris, whose grandfather started the Boutari winery in the mid-19th century. Kir Yianni brought Greek wines to the attention of the world with his high quality single vineyard Naoussa. This exceptional wine, now produced by his sons, shows a mid-garnet hue, cranberry and strawberry fruit and undertones of earth, black pepper and tobacco. Full-bodied, the palate is firmly structured with tangy acidity, dense tannins and warming alcohol framing the flavours. A strong wine multi-layered and with evolving textures, it will pair nicely with lamb kleftiko or the more English roasted rack-of-lamb. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
