Tasting notes:
Based in the heart of Épernay, Champagne Gosset has long been a proponent of the Pinots, but this is the first-ever venture into a Blanc de Blancs Celebris vintage Champagne! The grapes are from Grand Cru vineyards of Côte des Blancs and a couple of the Grand Cru vineyards on the Montagne de Reims. This is a stellar wine from a \'classic Chardonnay vintage.\' Aged for over nine years on the lees, the wine has a mid-gold hue and shows maturity with apples, pears, peaches and cream and a toasty undertone giving depth, Very Brut-style (7g/l r.s) with brittle mousse texture, racy acidity and linear signifying Chardonnay. Long and stylish, the wine would work well with seared rainbow trout and a garnish of fresh tomato-onion-parsley-fennel seed. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
