Tasting notes:
A delicious Holiday offering from Jörg Geiger, this wine is perhaps one that we should have recommended before the Holiday Season. But, it will be perfect with the \'leddings\', left-over Christmas puddings or mince pies. My tasting note started with, \'Ah, it\'s a cold mulled wine.\' Deep ruby-purple in colour, the wine is packed with red- and black fruits and plenty of Christmas spices: cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and perhaps a touch of vanilla pod. Medium-sweet (54g/l r.s.), the palate is medium-weight with plenty of fruit-and-spice flavours balanced by lively acidity and a little tannin adding structure. Really rather \'yum\' with fair length and good character in this style. And, to bracket the food pairing, I suggest that it will also be a \'Winter Warmer\' match for venison mince with dates, dried apricots and onion wrapped and baked in puff-pastry, a great dinner on cold winter nights.
