Tasting notes:
A fascinating Champagne that can be treated like a wine, such is its depth and power. Fully mature, it has an evolved appearance and aromas, and then a palate that wows for its characters, which range from cherry and rhubarb to apple and cranberry, pastry to coffee, baked bread to vanilla pod, before finishing dry, with some chalky, mouth-coating tannin. Slightly woody, mature, with some baked fruit notes, even forest floor and burnt orange, it cries out for food, preferably a hard cheese, or an egg-based dish such as quiche Lorraine.
