Stonehaven was built in 1998 byHardy’s to emphasise their winesfrom the Limestone Coast. AfterHardy’s moved operations, it laydormant until 2021 when CWWines bought the winery and the brand,and has since expanded its quality andrecognition. A delightful find, thisunoaked Malbec shows a deep rubypurplecolour with dark plums,blackberry and black pepper. Dry andmid-weight, the palate has purity offlavour balanced by brisk acidity andcorduroy-textured tannins. This willmatch grilled duck breasts with a redwine sauce. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
