Greatwall Winery
You are warmly invited to join a unique masterclass, jointly hosted by the drinks business Hong Kong and the Greatwall winery of China, on Wednesday 30th May.
The masterclass is unprecedented: it will be the first time Greatwall hosts a masterclass at an international trade fair in Hong Kong, China.
Established in 1978, Greatwall is China’s pre-eminent winery, owned by state-owned COFCO Group, with substantial vineyard holdings in 4 provinces of China, including Hebei, Shandong, Ningxia and Xinjiang. Advised by international consultants such as Bordeaux heavyweight Michel Rolland, the Greatwall winery has now developed into an international wine and spirits group with a diversity of wine styles, from bone dry to lusciously sweet, as well as a collection of recognised brand names, such as Chateau Sungod, the winery’s premium wine range often served at China’s state dinners. It was most recently served at a state dinner at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, when President Trump and his delegation visited.
Mr. Yu Qingquan, Chief Winemaker of Chateau Sungod, Chinese-trained with international work experience, will be presenting 8 examples of Greatwall winery’s finest to the trade and media audience at this masterclass. These have been selected to demonstrate the giant steps that Greatwall has made in its close to 40-year journey in launching itself as an international player in the wine and spirits industry.
