Alto Jahuel – Terroir, trials and tasting

You are invited to meet three winemakers at the forefront of Chile’s wine scene who will conduct an in-depth exploration of the Alto Jahuel region, a specific area within the Alto Maipo, Chile.

This region, located in the foothills of the Andes has an international reputation for producing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon’s in the world. Over the last twenty years this area has been the subject of much research within Santa Rita Estates, culminating in a US$30 million vineyard regeneration scheme known as WiSe. This masterclass will cover findings from soil studies, research and development and will include both finished and unblended wines.

Hosted by Editor-in-Chief Patrick Schmitt MW, the event will take place on Monday 6th December at Asia House, London, with a start time of 2pm. Sebastián Labbé – head winemaker at Viña Santa Rita, Emily Faulconer, head winemaker at Viña Carmen and Andres Ilabaca, head of research and development at Santa Rita Estates will be linked to the event on a large screen Zoom call.
