Glenfarclas releases The Last of the Millennium Bottling
Glenfarclas has announced the launch of the fourth expression in its annual Decanter Series, with just 600 decanters of The Last of the Millennium Bottling released.

Speyside whisky distillery Glenfarclas has released The Last of The Millennium Bottling. On the final day of the last millennium, the Grant family and distillery staff gathered to fill a series of casks at Glenfarclas. Among the attendees was George S. Grant, who had served as chairman for 52 years, and his son John, the current chairman.
This would be the last time George S. Grant visited the distillery before passing away in 2002, making this cask a significant one for the distillery.
Comprising the fourth edition of the Glenfarclas Decanter Series, this single cask was chosen from the twelve filled that day as a showcase of Glenfarclas’ heritage and style.
The family-owned distillery first revealed the debut release from its Decanter Series in 2022 with a 25-year-old bottled at natural cask strength. In 2023, this was followed by a 20-year-old Port pipe edition. Last year’s edition came from cask number 12, filled on 1 January 2000 by current Glenfarclas chairman John Grant, and bottled on 30 July 2024.

Peter Donnelly, spirits director of Pol Roger Portfolio, Glenfarclas’ UK distributor, has previously described the concept behind the series as comprising “five decanters over five years” to represent the “five generations of the Glenfarclas family and the styles they would choose”.
For this year’s release, Pol Roger Portfolio has selected a single sherry butt, filled on 31 December 1999 and matured for over 25 years and bottled on 28 August 2025.
Bottled at natural colour and at 51.2% ABV, only 600 Glencairn decanters have been produced for this expression.
The fifth release will be made available in 2026.
