Ste. Michelle Wine Estates announces senior leadership changes
Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (Ste. Michelle) has announced changes within its senior leadership team, as previous president and chief executive officer, David Dearie leaves the company to pursue his other interests.
According to a press release, Toby Whitmoyer has been appointed as president of the firm’s Washington division; Amy Prosenjak will serve as president in Oregon; and David Bowman has been appointed president for California. Mike Lee will become the business’ chief financial officer and president of operations & supply chain.
Ste. Michelle operates across three commercial divisions: Washington, Oregon, and California.
Last month, we reported the news that Ste. Michell had added Oregon’s A to Z and Rex Hill brands to its portfolio under its first acquisition with new owners Sycamore Partners.
Ste. Michelle now oversees more than 12,000 hectares of vineyards across its three commercial territories: Washington, California and Oregon.

Amy Prosenjak joined Ste. Michelle as part of the deal, having previously worked as A to Z’s president and CEO.
A to Z’s founding partners, Deb Hatcher, Cheryl Francis and Sam Tannahill also joined Ste. Michelle as consultants.
Tannahill commented of the acquisition: “Ste. Michelle has always taken a long-term view regarding grape-growing and winemaking, including their commitment to sustainability and their support for viticulture and enology research.”
