Italian powerhouse region heads to Wine Paris
With 30 producers presenting their wines, regional gastronomy and a prize draw, Friuli Venezia Giulia aims to prove that there are still discoveries to make in Italy’s northeast.

The regional collective representing Friuli Venezia Giulia has revealed its plans for next week’s Wine Paris, the world’s largest international wine fair. Friuli Venezia Giulia will have a stand organised and managed by PromoTurismoFVG (a public body with a responsibility for promoting the region) in tandem with the Regional Agency for Rural Development (ERSA).
With Wine Paris serving as one of the key meeting points for the international wine trade, the regional stand has launched its registration page for attendees to visit the stand. At the three-day show, 30 wineries will present a wide selection of wines to the world’s buyers and decision-makers.
The wineries range from multi-generation projects, including the oldest winery in Friuli, to relatively new projects built on innovative winemaking.
Among the wines on offer, you will find quintessential grapes of the region like Pinot Grigio and Ribolla Gialla; international varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay; and diverse styles including traditional method sparkling wine.

However, the stand is not simply a gathering of producers. The Friuli Venezia Giulia stand will also serve as a space for education, where visitors can explore the overarching narrative of the region’s wines.
At the Regional Wine Cellar section of the stall, visitors will be able to sample specialities on tap. These tastings will take place under the guidance of the Italian Sommelier Association, ensuring that the region’s heritage and terroirs are communicated at every chance. The stand will also feature a staffed infopoint to help visitors make the most of the selection and offer suggestions on where to explore next.
Wine Paris will not, however, be an overly serious affair at the Friuli Venezia Giulia stand. Among the wine sampling, visitors will be able to get a further taste of the region, as regional speciality foods will be prepared especially for the occasion and served through the days.
For those looking to know the region even more intimately, there is a prize draw: by registering their attendance at the infopoint or online, visitors can win a trip to Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Finally, to dispel any myth that Wine Paris is all work and no play, the stand will host a welcome event on Monday 9 February from 7–9pm. Alongside plenty of Friuli Venezia Giulia wine, there will be other local products to sample and live music to kick off the convivial mood. For anyone needing a pick-me-up after the first day’s meetings, the night will offer a perfect opportunity to recharge, connect and sample some standout Italian producers.
Friuli Venezia Giulia is exhibiting at Wine Paris from 9–11 February in Hall 5.2, Stand C265. Attendees wishing to visit the stand should register in advance here.
