A taste of Provence with Fleur de L’Amaurigue Rosé

Family-owned Domaine de l’Amaurigue’s Fleur special cuvée rosé highlights the natural flavours of Grenache and Cinsault grapes, showcasing the essence of Provence terroir.

Domaine de l’Amaurigue’s Fleur de l’Amaurigue Rosé Special Cuvée is a tribute to the de Groot family’s cherished daughter, Fleur, now a co-owner and sales and marketing manager of the winery. Hailing from some of the finest hillside vineyards of the Côtes de Provence appellation in France – where sunny days ensure ripe flavours and clay-limestone soils lend finesse – the wine features a clean aesthetic and standout branding that reflect its vibrant, crisp, and refreshing character.

Introduced by the de Groot family in 2003 and crafted by winemaker Jean Marie Quef, the special cuvée is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Cinsault. Grenache, a variety which originated in Spain, is celebrated for its elegant, full-bodied attributes, while Cinsault adds a fresh, delicate, and fruity nuance that complements Grenache’s strength. The result is a clear, fruity rosé that celebrates the natural flavours of the grapes and highlights the terroir of Provence.

The label’s 2025 rosé boasts a pale pink hue and offers a complex, fresh nose with delicate floral and citrus notes. On the palate, the wine combines suppleness and roundness while remaining dry, with distinctive grapefruit aromas, leading to a persistent finish and a delightful freshness. The balance between freshness and fruity delicacy creates a harmonious, well-structured profile with a refreshing finish, making the rosé a great aperitif. For ideal pairing,  Fleur de l’Amaurigue can be enjoyed alongside a variety of dishes such as salmon carpaccio, quiche, lamb, or roasted cod on a bed of Provençal vegetables.

Fleur de l’Amaurigue rosé is available at select wine stores and restaurants, with a suggested retail price of €15.45 (US$18), across France, the rest of Europe, the US, and China.

Dedication to terroir

Domaine de l’Amaurigue, in the village of Le Luc in the heart of Provence, was originally built in 1786 as a farm surrounded by forest. The estate was converted into a vineyard in the 1940s, when the owners carefully selected the best grape varieties to plant on the finest parcels of land.

The site was acquired by Dick and Enie de Groot in 1998, who have since transformed the dilapidated estate, including fully renovating the living area and modernising the winemaking cellar. What started as a hobby has developed into a blooming family business. Since 2000, the estate has been producing all of its wine on-site, classified as AOP Côtes de Provence. The winery now offers a diverse range of products, including four types of rosé, white and red wines, sparkling rosé, and olive oil.

The de Groot family has made significant investments to improve and modernise the vineyard, production processes, and vine management. The vineyard has expanded from 30 to 50 acres while maintaining its authenticity, producing high-quality wines that respect the environment. The winery’s focus is on enhancing biodiversity and naturally protecting the vineyards’ crops.

As a result of their commitment, Domaine de l’Amaurigue has been awarded the High Environmental Value Certificate (HVE). The HVE certification covers four key areas: biodiversity conservation, crop protection, management of fertiliser use, and water management. The initiatives include maximising the use of natural resources without causing harm, such as planting other crops to improve soil structure. The estate also emphasises learning from ecosystems and cooperating with nature to ensure that future generations can enjoy the land as well.
