Padella to toast a decade with third restaurant opening

Padella, one of London’s hottest restaurants, will open its third site in Spring 2026 – a decade after Tim Siadatan and Jordan Frieda launched the first version of the fresh pasta concept in Borough Market.

In Spring 2026, Tim Siadatan and Jordan Frieda will launch Padella in Soho, bringing their fresh pasta concept to the West End. Offering a variety of pasta dishes at competitive prices, Padella garners long queues, with guests often happy to wait hours for a table. Food writer Darren Smith can be counted among its fans: in 2016, reporting for the drinks business, he delighted in “hard-to-resist” fine wine, and “simple, consistently delicious” dishes.

And Italiophiles can expect similar fare at the new site of Kingly Street. Signature Padella serves, including the Pici Cacio e Pepe and Pappardelle with Beef Shin Ragu will be on offer, alongside new recipes that spotlight British produce.

On the move to Soho, Siadatan and Frieda said: “We have always felt the energy of Soho was a perfect fit for Padella, and we’ve spent a long time looking for the right space. 

“Bringing our fresh pasta to Kingly Street is something we are both incredibly excited about, and we hope it becomes a place where people can drop in for a quick plate or settle in for a long evening”.

Step inside

Spanning two floors, the interior is designed by Day Studio’s Lisa Helmanis and Stileman Lighting’s Dada Stileman. Downstairs, warm wood, chrome and formica will set the tone, and upstairs will feature a bar and dining room that nods to the 1960s lounges that once populated Soho, with plush upholstery, polished teak and pink mirrors. Overall, the restaurant can hold 80, and that’s including a secret hidden room which can hold up to eight guests.

The site opening follows on from Padella’s second restaurant which launched in Shoreditch in 2020. The initial Padella concept was born from Siadatan and Frieda’s dream to create a pasta bar serving fresh, hand rolled pasta with fillings and sauces inspired by trips to Italy.

Padella, which is the Italian word for ‘pan’, is the second concept from the duo, who first co-founded Trullo in Highbury & Islington in 2010.

Distinctive dining

Emma Matus, head of restaurant leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, commented: “The hospitality offer in Soho continues to evolve, and Padella is reflective of the style and calibre of concepts that call Carnaby Street and Soho home. The signing not only affirms the destination’s position as a key dining hub with a multi-faceted offer, but also reminds us of the neighbourhood’s position as an attractive place for West End debuts.”

She dubbed Padella the “ perfect fit for the neighbourhood”, as a “high-quality and distinctive restaurant that will undoubtedly prove a popular addition”.

In September, the duo launched a cookbook, Padella: Iconic Pasta at Home, sharing the secrets of the much-loved recipes with guests. Since, it has been awarded the non-fiction winner of “Waterstone’s Book of the Year”, and The Times’ Cookbook of the Year.
