Antigal showcases the diversity of Mendoza terroir
Located at the foot of the Andes in Maipú, Mendoza, Argentina’s Antigal Winery and Estates promotes wines that showcase the region’s terroir.

Antigal Winery and Estates has become a consistent voice in high-altitude winemaking, combining heritage, precision and a clear terroir-driven philosophy. Based in Argentina, the winery has gained international visibility in recent years, and its Uno Chardonnay – recently awarded a Silver medal by The Drinks Business – is the latest example of its growing reputation for quality.
A historic Winery with a modern vision
Antigal was founded in 2000 within the restored walls of a 19th-century winery in Maipú, Mendoza. The renovation preserved the character of the original structure while integrating modern winemaking technology, shifting its focus to crafting high-quality, premium wines.
The winery’s expansion has been steady and strategic. Today, Antigal exports to more than 80 countries and maintains a strong presence in global on-trade and top retailers. The brand’s international recognition includes being named New World Winery of the Year 2023 by Wine Enthusiast, and its UNO Malbec has become one of the top-selling Argentine Malbecs in the US.
Supporting this international expansion, both Uno Malbec and Uno Chardonnay are now available for purchase at Tesco, one of the UK’s largest and most influential retailers, reinforcing Antigal’s position in key global markets.
A philosophy rooted in terroir and precision
Today, Antigal is renowned for its terroir-driven wines, born in the vineyards of the Uco Valley and Primera Zona, where the region’s diverse altitudes, continental climate, and varied soils
enable the cultivation of a wide range of grapes.
Leading Antigal’s winemaking is Paula González, whose approach blends technical rigour with a deep respect for the land: “At Antigal, our goal is to craft wines that genuinely reflect their place of origin. Capturing the purest expression of the terroir through an interpretative viticulture is our true mission.”

Uno Chardonnay: A Silver-winning expression of altitude and diversity
The recent Silver Medal from The Drinks Business for Uno Chardonnay highlights Antigal’s success in capturing the best of Mendoza terroir. Uno Chardonnay 2025 is sourced from vineyards planted at varied altitudes and soil profiles, allowing it to combine freshness, texture and complexity in a unified style. The wine is aged for six months, with 20% of the ageing process taking place in third-use French oak barrels. The result is an aromatic, elegant, and refreshing wine that features notes of tropical fruits, such as pineapple, white peach, and apricot, along with hints of vanilla on the palate.
Known for its versatility, Uno Chardonnay was conceived as a food-friendly wine, a hallmark of the entire Uno line. Its adaptability to different cuisines and occasions reflects Antigal’s aim to craft wines that fit contemporary drinking habits while showcasing identity.
For González, the success of Uno Chardonnay reflects the winery´s philosophy: a wine crafted from the diversity of Mendoza, shaped with precision.
Driven by sustainability
Sustainable viticulture, the preservation of natural resources for future generations, and support for the community lie at the core of Antigal’s commitment to craftsmanship. The winery holds certifications from Bodegas de Argentina for sustainable practices and has received organic certification for its vineyards from Letis, demonstrating its respect for the land and dedication to responsible production.
All Antigal wines are vegan-friendly, utilising no animal-derived products at any stage of the winemaking process, and are certified as such by Veg Argentina. To ensure the quality and safety of its products and to comply with national and international regulations, Antigal is also certified by the Food Safety System (FSSC 22000). Additionally, the winery promotes programs that benefit its team, supporting their personal and professional growth, which is recognised through its Smeta certification.
All of these efforts culminate in food-friendly, versatile wines that showcase Antigal’s commitment to sustainable practices and the unique terroir of Mendoza.
