Glenfiddich unveils XS collection with sherry cask finesse
The family-owned distiller has launched a trio of single malts finished in Sherry casks for extra depth. The collection will debut in China in November 2025.

Glenfiddich has introduced Glenfiddich XS, a new collection of single malt Scotch whiskies crafted to reveal additional layers of flavour through sherry cask finishing. Produced by William Grant & Sons, the release marks what the distillery describes as a “bold new chapter” for the brand.
Launching first in China in November 2025, Glenfiddich XS will comprise three age statements: 15, 18 and 21 years. Each whisky has been finished in hand-selected Oloroso, Moscatel or Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, chosen to bring what the distiller calls “extra layers of richness” to its character.
Sherry casks bring added depth
The Glenfiddich XS collection has been created by malt master Brian Kinsman (pictured), who is responsible for overseeing the maturation of some of the world’s most awarded single malts.

The 15-year-old expression is finished in Oloroso casks, the 18-year-old in Moscatel and the 21-year-old in Pedro Ximénez. Each is said to retain the distillery’s signature vibrancy while adding a different dimension to the house style.
Celebrating moments of connection
Glenfiddich XS is positioned as a whisky for what the producer calls “moments of meaningful connection” and “celebrating moments of progress.” By elevating the traditional Glenfiddich profile with enhanced sherry cask maturation, the range aims to speak to drinkers seeking a more layered and expressive experience.
The distillery describes the collection as “defined by depth and character revealed over time”.
