Franciacorta announced as official sparkling wine of the Emmys

Franciacorta DOCG’s deal with the Television Academy to supply sparkling wine to the Emmy Awards, the most prestigious event of the year for the US television industry, has been extended for a further three years.

Sparkling wine from the Lombard appellation have been served at the Emmy Awards ceremony and adjacent events, including the Creative Emmy Awards for those working behind the scenes and nominees celebrations, since 2020.

Consorzio Franciacorta president Silvano Brescianini said: “We are proud that the Television Academy has chosen Franciacorta as Official Sparkling Wine partner for the next three years. It’s a long-term partnership that not only guarantees an important presence in the US market, which is growing rapidly for us, but that also offers our wineries a great visibility and an exclusive positioning internationally.”

Television Academy CEO Frank Scherma added: “Franciacorta is the ideal partner for the Emmys and the Television Academy. Their varietals and sparkling wines are renowned for their quality, and we are thrilled to offer them to our nominees, members, partners and guests throughout the season. I can’t think of a better way to extend hospitality and celebration than with a glass of one of Franciacorta’s sparkling wines.”

The 75th edition of the Emmy Awards will take place on Monday 18 September in Los Angeles, with the winners toasting their success with the traditional method Italian fizz.

The appellation is gaining increasing attention, thanks in part to a series of high profile partnerships including with Milan Fashion Week, Porsche, and the Michelin Guide.
