Brewery releases beer named after and inspired by explicit email from furious customer

A Virginia-based brewery has hit back at an online troll by releasing a beer named after, and inspired by, their vulgar and explicit email of complaint.

Beale’s Brewey in Virginia launched the new American-style porter earlier in March after receiving an email from an incandescent customer. The person in question had allegedly berated brewery staff members who enforced a mask mandate in its taproom.

“Your manager is b**** and your beer tastes like hot old orange juice,” the email reads. The message is currently printed on the back of each can.

The front, meanwhile, shows a smiling Brittany Canterbury, the brewery’s general manager.

Emily Sanfratella, the vice president of operations at Beale’s said that the brewery had decided to “fight back” with the beer named after the explicit email.

“We told the story on the can and printed the email verbatim.”

“We made this beer mostly out of a deep, abiding pettiness.” A post on the company’s social media reads.
“As one of the few local businesses that follows the mask mandate, we’ve taken our fair share of sh*t from customers throughout the pandemic. When we posted on social media to remind customers to wear masks, the trolls erupted. We took their comments, kept their names attached, and incorporated them into our first Troll beer. ⁣
“The trolls unfortunately don’t just live on the internet. As any service industry worker can tell you, there are IRL versions as well. The customer is not always right, and we aren’t afraid to acknowledge that. Every single host, server, bartender, and manager deserves to be treated as fully human. Women aren’t b*tches simply because they tell you something you don’t care to hear. To all of you who have messaged us with similar stories, we stand with you and support you.”
In a previous social media post, the brewery thanked the troll in question for “giving us an opportunity to stand behind [general manager Brittany Canterbury] and the countless other service industry workers who come to work every day with unfailing optimism.”

Meanwhile, a group of would-be beer thieves were left red-faced after their attempted keg-heist went awry. You can read the full story here.
