13 people test positive for Covid-19 at Diageo facility
Some members of staff working at Diageo’s packaging facility in Glasgow have been told to self-isolate after 13 people tested positive for Covid-19.
12 employees from one of the spirits group’s logistics contractors and one other worker at a packaging plant in Shieldhall, Glasgow, tested positive over the past week.
Diageo, which makes Smirnoff vodka and Johnnie Walker Whisky, has now ordered a deep clean of the areas the infected employees worked in and are working to prevent any on-site transmission.
“The health and well-being of our people, suppliers and the community is our number one priority,” a spokesperson said.
