Lanson appoints Robert Rand as managing director

Following the departure of Paul Beavis last month, Champagne Lanson has appointed Robert Rand as its new UK managing director.

After four years as Lanson’s UK sales director, Rand successfully mentored and drove Lanson’s sales team, exceeding annual sales targets.

In recent months he has been working side-by-side with Beavis to allow a smooth transition of the business and continuity of leadership.

Rand has held a number of positions within senior management and sales at Lanson, including head of on and off-trade sales and senior account manager for major multiples.

Prior to joining Lanson, Rand worked at United Wineries, Moet Hennessy UK and Carlsberg Breweries.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be taking on the role of managing director at this important transition with the brand. We are fortunate to have a collective team of incredibly strong and dynamic individuals working with us at Champagne Lanson UK, and we also have exciting, evolutionary plans ahead,” Rand said.

“We will shortly be revealing our exciting brand redesign, new product launches, and a new marketing and advertising campaign.

“I’m also pleased to announce that we have appointed Daniel Corry as head of sales (off-trade) and Alastair Harwood as head of sales (on-trade), combined with the recent promotion of Michael Pemberton as our financial director,” he added.

François Van Aal, Lanson’s president, concluded: “I am in no doubt that Rob will make a success of his new role.”
