Royce Cellar calling all Burgundy lovers

Fragrant and elegant, Burgundian wine in the Hong Kong market is going from strength to strength and avid drinkers are not being put off by rising prices.

Royce Cellar is hosting a Burgundy pop-up market from 20 September to 4 October, offering customers the chance to taste Burgundy fine wines from over 30 grand crus and 40 premier crus and spanning the vintages 1976 to 2012.

From 20-22 and 27-29 September, the shop will offer complimentary Burgundy tastings all day long during two Friday to Sunday sessions.

A different village will be featured each day. On 21 September, Haze Wong, product & portfolio manager at Wine’s Link Limited, will host a workshop named “Journey through Burgundy”.

At this informal event, the Burgundy expert will walk customers through a tasting journey over some incredible grand and premier crus wines from the region.

The seven wines to be tasted on the event include Domaine A.F. Gros Clos des Guettes, Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru 2009, Domaine Dupont-Tisserandot Corton-Rognet Grand Cru 2001 and Domaine Henri Richard Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2002. Priced at HK$380, the event will be conducted in Cantonese and only 10 spots are available on a first come first serve basis.
