HK’s oldest WSET provider celebrates 25th anniversary

Asia Wine Service & Education Centre (AWSEC), the longest established WSET course provider in Hong Kong, celebrated 25 years of offering wine and spirits education in the Asian wine hub this month.

Established in 1994 when wine education was virtually non-existent in Hong Kong, AWSEC has grown to become the longest established Approved Programme Provider with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust UK, and the only one offering the whole portfolio of the WSET courses and examinations up to and including Diploma in Hong Kong.

Recognised by the Hong Kong government as the market leader in wine education and training, the institute has played a key role in lifting consumer and trade wine knowledge in the city.

Over the years, the education institute claims to have trained over 100,000 wine professionals and enthusiasts in Hong Kong, mainland China and Asia.

Speaking of the anniversary, Jennie Mack, co-founder of AWSEC, told dbHK: “Twenty-five years of continuously building and being an integral part of the ever-growing wine industry in Hong Kong and China demonstrate a commitment and dedication on our part to deliver the highest standards of service and education.

“We are deeply grateful for the support of our wine, media and international government partners, clients, students and the AWSEC family team, and we look forward to continuing to be part of the wine journey of thousands more people whether it be for pleasure or for career advancement.”
