Adrian Garforth to head IMW
The Institute of Masters of Wine has announced that Adrian Garforth MW has been elected as its new chairman.
The CEO of the Yealands Wine Group and now the 54th chairman of the IMW takes over from Jane Masters MW whose tenure came to an end on 12 September.
Garforth commented: “I’ve been a proud Member of the Institute of Masters of Wine for over 25 years, and am delighted to become chairman at such a buoyant time in its history.”
Garforth has worked in the wine industry for 30 years and has held numerous senior operational and commercial roles in South Africa, Jamaica, Russia the UK and most recently New Zealand.
He became an MW in 1993 while working for Diageo and in South Africa he was part of the team that established Spier Wine Group.
