Ramondin snaps up screwcap company

Multinational capsule manufacturer Ramondin has snapped up Chilean screwcap producer INESA in order to expand its global reach.

INESA is a Chilean subsidiary of the Córpora group and produces screwcaps for the Latin American market. Last year the company recorded $US16 million in sales and has 100 employees.

Through the acquisition, Ramondin adds a fifth production facility to complement plants in Argentina, the US, Spain and France.

The merger gives Ramondin the infrastructure to build the screwcap segment of its business in Chile, Argentina and other international markets.

“This acquisition is in line with our product portfolio expansion strategy and reinforces Ramondin’s position as strategic supplier on the Latin American market”, said Ramondin CEO, José Miguel Munilla.

“We’re delighted with this operation and the possibility of having a team of prestigious professionals for this new stage, which has taken INESA to the highest level.

“Both the leading companies share essential values, a strong family company culture, and a long company history; so the integration is going to be harmonious,” he added.

“The synergy between both companies marks a new stage of international growth for the group as key supplier in the capsule sector,” added a spokesperson for Ramondin.

Founded in 1890, Ramondin produces capsules for wines, spirits and Champagnes.

Ramondin provides INESA with expansion of the sales networks and the chance to offer a complete portfolio, which will boost its role in new export markets.
