Dictador partners with Hong Kong distributor Leung Yick

Colombian spirits producer, Dictador, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Hong Kong distributor, Leung Yick, to sell its premium spirits range within the Hong Kong market.

The partnership, is described by the company, as “a direct result of increased consumer demand” and Leung Yick, a leading distributor in spirits, liquors and alcoholic beverages, was carefully selected to contribute to its successful next wave of growth.

Having been producing rum in Cartagena, Colombia since 1913, Dictador is currently distributed in over 80 markets around the world. Two of its rums, the 12-year and 20-year aged Solera System rums, have been presented with golds and double golds at major international spirit competitions including the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2016.

Marcin Lukasiewicz, vice president of sales for Dictador Europe, said: “Hong Kong is the gateway market to China, therefore, we needed to ensure our products would be distributed by the right partner who shared our commitment to building long-term brand equity”.

Dictador’s portfolio also includes iconic spirits such as the XO rums – the Insolent and the Perpetual – which boast both a different ageing system and flavour profile, in addition to a range of exclusive Colombian coffees, chocolates and Dominican cigars.
