HK’s Ponti takes on JFW’s Siduri

One of Hong Kong’s most established wine merchants, Ponti Wine Cellars, has announced it has taken on the exclusive distribution of Jackson Family Wines’ Siduri Pinot Noir range.

Named after the Babylonian goddess of love, the Siduri range compasses cool climate, single-vineyard Pinot Noir hailing from five major AVAs and 20 different sites, including California’s Santa Barbara to Oregon’s Willamette Valley.

Established by owners, Adam Lee and Dianna Novy, the estate produced its first vintage in 1994 and quickly became known for producing some of the best expressions of Pinot Noir.

Each wine is vinified separately by vineyard, block, lot, clone, yeast and barrel cooper, then blended by the Lees and bottled unfiltered and unfined. In January 2015, Jackson Family Wines announced it had acquired Siduri.

Exclusive to Ponti Wine Cellars and due to land in March in Hong Kong will be Siduri’s Russian River Pinot Noir 2014 (HK$268), Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2015 (HK$238), Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2014 (HK$328), Rosella’s Vineyard Pinot Noir SLH 2014 (HK$398) and John Sebastiano Vineyard Pinot Noir SRH (HK$398).

Amanda So, department manager for Ponti’s wine division said: “We have always admired the works of Adam Lee and becoming the new Hong Kong distributor is a dream come true.”

Point Wine Cellars was founded in 1988, making it one of the oldest and most established wine merchants in Hong Kong.
