Hallgarten strengthens sales team

UK wine importer Hallgarten Druitt & Novum Wines has made a raft of new appointments to strengthen its sales team.

Robin Knapp joins Hallgarten Druitt to head up regional sales team

It has added five new members of staff covering the UK and international sales, which it said signalled a long-term commitment to growing the business.

Joe Wadhams, who worked with the Hallgarten buying team when he was at Novum Wine before joining in Enotria in 2009, joins the group as regional business development director covering the South of England, with Tom Burke working as a regional sales executive in the Manchester area.

New business will be looked after by Howard Corrigan, who was previously head of on-trade sales at Champagne producer Vranken-Pommery UK and before that worked at Mentzendorff and Barwell & Jones.

Gerald Chislett from Freixenet will head up the national accounts manager role,

Meanwhile the growing international side of the business will be bolstered by the appointment of former md of Barwell & Jones, Stephen Gerrard, who has been appointed international sales director. Gerrard previously worked at PLB Group and HwCg.

Managing director Andrew Bewes said the additions would help Hallgarten deliver its long-term goals and reinforce its commitment to serving customers across the trade.

“Our customers are rightly demanding ever increasing levels of service, professionalism, partnership and expertise from wine suppliers and these appointments, together with several more planned in London, the South and the North, demonstrate our commitment to our customers,” he said.

The moves follows the appointment of Robin Knapp to the new role of director of regional sales in October.
