Trade registration open for db’s Wine Show Chelsea

Trade registration for the drinks business’ second Wine Show Chelsea is now open, offering the chance to try hundreds of award-winning wines and take part in expert masterclasses.

Last year’s inaugural event

Organised by the drinks business, the second Wine Show Chelsea will take place from 14-16 October in the Old Town Hall in the heart of Chelsea. The first afternoon will be aimed at trade with the rest of the weekend aimed at consumers.

Last year the event attracted over 2,000 visitors who were able to enjoy wines on pour from more than 30 exhibitors, masterclasses on various wine regions and styles, food and wine matching, a dedicated “Cognac zone” and a free-pour hall dedicated to showcasing medal-winning wines from the Drinks Business Global Masters Series.

This year’s event promises to be even bigger. A range of masterclasses will once again be hosted by experts, including MWs, with wine enthusiasts given the opportunity to discover and buy fine wines. Tasting advisors – ranging from trade experts to MWs – will be present throughout the show to offer help and advice to consumers.

Masterclasses hosted by experts will also take place throughout the weekend, to which guests will be able to sign up on the day, while a series of trade-only masterclasses will take place on the Friday afternoon as follows:-

2pm – “Sparkling wines – Champagne vs the World”
Do you want to know the difference between English, French, Italian and Californian sparkling? Would you like to find out who makes the best fizz under £15, and over £30? Then join this masterclass on sparkling wines, which features the best-performing fizz from around the world based on the top scoring brands in The Drinks Business Sparkling Wine Masters.

3.30pm – “Obscure with a High Score”
A chance to taste brilliant wines that you never knew existed. All the wines have gained a gold medal in The Drinks Business Global Masters following blind tastings by Masters of Wine. An opportunity to try first rate Cabernet from Turkey, lip smacking Sauvignon from India and Rhone rivalling Syrah from Switzerland.

charity tombola will again take place, this year in support of The Benevolent. Last year the tombola raised more than £1,000 for Help for Heroes. db will once again be promoting the event through its established media platforms, including thedrinksbusiness.com, the drinks business magazine, direct mailings, targeted e-newsletter campaigns and a variety of social media outlets, such as Yplan and Timeout.
