Pegna: BBR in better position in Asia than ever before

Ahead of Berry Bros & Rudd’s portfolio tasting, Asia director Nick Pegna commented that the company is in a “better position than ever before to represent its producers” on a regional scale in Asia.

“With today being the day of our annual portfolio tasting and us expecting over 200 guests, it is heartening to see that our move to Central and our new office in Queens Road has allowed us to re-engage with some old customers and friends,” he said.

“On a wider regional scale, Berry Bros & Rudd is in a better position than ever before to represent the producers with whom we work, across multiple Asian markets.  We are working on distribution contracts on the wine side of our business, following the model emulated by our spirits side of the business.  One that has been successful for a number of years.

“Overall, business momentum has been encouraging after an excellent start with the 2015 Bordeaux campaign and I’m pleased to see that the activity in the market particularly after Brexit, is continuing at pace.”

Held today at Brasserie on the Eighth in the Conrad Hotel, the portfolio tasting will feature over 85 wines including premium Cava producer, Gramona; Champagne Thienot; Puligny-Montrachet Chateau de Puligny-Montrachet and Domaine Thompson Explorer Pinot Noir, with a new range from Bordeaux producer, Dourthe to be unveiled.
