Jackson supports student sommeliers

Jackson Family Wines has announced its support for the European Court of Master Sommeliers by providing three annual scholarships.

The US-based producer, which also owns estates in Bordeaux, Tuscany, McLaren Vale, South Africa and Chile, will help fund those studying the Introductory and Certified level Sommelier Course across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. These qualifications pave the way to the highest accolade of Master Sommelier, a group of just 220 individuals worldwide.

“The Court of Master Sommeliers promotes the highest level of wine expertise and service, and we are honoured to support their international commitment to wine education,” commented James Tookey, Jackson Family Wines’ vice-president for Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Explaining the value of this link, Tookey observed: “As a global, premium and luxury wine producer, we are dedicated to making the highest quality wines and sharing the quality story with consumers.

“Sommeliers and Master Sommeliers serve a critical role in promoting and elevating our industry, and we’re happy to provide three skilled candidates with the opportunity to join the Master Sommelier ranks.”
