Around the Grounds in 14 days: Day two

Chris Porter, chairman of the drinks industry charity The Benevolent, was today scheduled to visit nine London clubs on day two of his fundraising challenge to visit all of the UK’s 91 league football grounds in 14 days. Starting his journey at 7am from Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge football ground, Chris was met by David Cox, chief executive of The Benevolent, and trustee Edward Dove. David said that Chris was on “excellent form and very appreciative of the support received so far”.

Chris then moved on to visit the grounds of Fulham FC, accompanied by Edward Dove, who kept him company throughout the day’s journey.

The pair then took in the sights of AFC Wimbledon and Brentford FC, where the London weather failed to treat them kindly….

…before finishing the morning’s travels at the Queens Park Rangers FC. This afternoon Chris visited the grounds of Arsenal FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Millwall FC and Charlton Athletic, and was due to finish late this afternoon in Portsmouth.

The Around the Grounds in 14 Days challenge will see Chris use only a combination of train, tram and pedal-bike to visit each of the UK’s league football grounds, starting today at Norwich City Football Club, and finishing at Crystal Palace Football Club on Sunday 25 May.
