Top wine fairs of 2014

WINE & GOURMET JAPAN, 2-4 April, Tokyo Big Sight, Japan

Wine-JapanGathering over 600 importers, wholesalers, distributors and buyers from the world of food and drink, Wine & Gourmet Japan, the only wine and spirits networking business platform in Japan, showcases a wide range of products from fine wine and spirits to food.

Last year, some 71,157 visitors flocked to the fair from Japan, Australia, China, Singapore and the US, as well as a host of European countries.

New for this year will be an Imported Sweets Zone; the debut of ProCafé – a fair within a fair providing a platform for both manufacturers and suppliers of coffee-related products (Japan is one of the largest consumers of coffee in the world); a Japanese wine and saké pavilion and a wine label contest.

    Good list of fairs. But I can assure you from personal experience that Vinitaly does NOT have 20% of visitors coming from North America, that’s just marketing talk. The vast majority are Italians, with some 30% from abroad.
