Tasting notes:

Very deep ruby colour hints at the intensity of this wine.  The nose is ripe and rich, with hints of cherry and dried fruit cake, a slight creaminess and an enticing spice.  On the palate the creaminess and ripe raspberry, red cherry, and plum fruit emerges with notes of allspice and clove.  Fine dry tannins with a refreshing acidity and a beautifully long finish.  This would benefit from some food – ideally Bistecca alla Fiorentina with some rosemary and garlic, and will last many years, but is delicious now.
